This is Nala. She was from a litter of 3 we rescued and was adopted from us by some friends of ours in 1997. Can you imagine her former owners said they couldn't find homes for the kittens? They all looked like Nala, solid white and fluffy. After baths and flea treatment, we had them all adopted out within a week. |

This is Rose. She came to us with 5 kittens. Rose has been adopted out to a loving home. |

Bartok was born in 1998 to a black mother and Seal Point Siamese father who live in the dumpsters outside of the cafeteria at Charelston Southern University. He was rescued with his brother at about two weeks of age. Both had under- developed eyes and his brother (Chester) did not survive another week. Through diligent bottle feedings and lots of love, this nearly blind cat became an almost normal member of our family. He now lives with his mother/rescuer (Christie) and her other cat, Clara (below). |

Clara :born in 1999, is solid black. Clara was rescued from some idiot neighbors of a friend. She was being kept loose outside in the January cold as a tiny kitten, about 6 weeks old, with no food, water or shelter. My daughter liberated her, and she has done very well here. We are quite sure she was abused. She lives with Christie, and after years of almost constant attention, has finally become socialized. This is a baby pic of Clara. She has become quite the mighty hunter recently, and presents Christie with dead mousies on a regular basis. |

Grits : 6 year old Cymrick Manx female, long, silky, black and white, almost tuxedo pattern. Rescued from a dog kennel of all places. Grits was a very shy, timid kitty with a particular fondness for tuna. The other cats saw her as "deformed" due to her lack of a tail. She was constantly defending herself from attacks, and we protected her as best we can. She had the prettiest whiskers I EVER saw! Long, full and white... Grits recently had most of her teeth removed due to gum disease. She's doing well, and has gained a bunch of weight. Because of the agression of our other cats, Grits was adopted by a woman who could allow her to be an "Only Cat". |

This is Isabel, about 5 months old in this pic. She was one of the younger kittens rescued with Dallas and Austin. As she has gotten older, we realized, there was a Maine Coon in that woodpile somewhere! Look at the feet on this little girl! She was adopted by our youngest daughter's boyfriend and his family, and is thriving. It took a while for Isabel to train their sheepdog, but the dog now understands, the CAT is in charge! She had a male twin who was a very easy adoption to a great family who wanted a companion for their 4 year old Maine Coon. |

This is Bonnie. In July 2004, I received a desperate phone call from a woman who needed emergency placement for Bonnie and her 5 kittens. At the time, the kittens were about 3 weeks old, and Mom-Cat was only about 7 months old. When they brought her to us, Bonnie and the kittens were filthy, skinny, and crawling with fleas. Once we fed the poor thing, we isolated her in the guest room, and fixed her up with a nice box for the kids, then we hit her with Advantage for the fleas. The next morning, there were literally HUNDREDS of dead and dying fleas on the blanket. We changed all of the bedding out, and I then started trying to clean the filth off her tummy. I have never seen a Momma cat let her titties get so filthy! They were caked with crud. A soapy washcloth did wonders. Over the next few weeks, everyone gained weight, and resolved the flea related anemia. The kittens were taken in by a local vet who does rescue work. She does pediatric neuters, immunizations, worms them, tests for FIV and FeLeuk, etc. then adopts them out for a $75 donation. They all have wonderful homes now. Bonnie is now (spayed) and living with our daughter Betsy. She's a dear kitty. She was born about January 2004. |

Litter #1 March 21,2003 We received these 2 tiny Tabby female kittens (Paulett and Nicole) from Pet Helpers, a local rescue organization. The one on the bottom (Paulett) had a horribly infected wound on one of her back leg joints. The vet's advice was to put her to sleep. :-( He said she would surely need to have the leg amputated. Well, after 10 days of amoxicillin, and careful wound care, the leg healed, COMPLETELY! They were bottle fed until about 4 weeks old, then weaned, and returned to be adopted out by Pet Helpers. Both now have wounderful Forever homes. |

Litter #1 April 4, 2003 Time to go find our Forever homes. Thanks for helping us! |

Litter #1, April 4, 2003 Just one more snuggie before we go, okay? See how big we've gotten? Paulett was a bit smaller than Nicole, but I think that was from being so sick with that infected wound. I hear she caught up just fine! |

Litter #2 April 1, 2003 - Going over the top! More bottle babies from Pet Helpers... "Snap, Crackle and Pop" Some local construction workers had been sharing their lunches with a feral Mom-Cat. They came to work one morning, and found Mom-Cat dead by the side of the road. God bless them, they spent the next few hours locating the kittens, and then finding an organization that would accept orphans this young. They were about 10-14 days old when we received the 3 of them. Break out the bottles and the KMR, we've got more kittens to feed! |

Litter #2 April 20, 2003 They're learning that good things can also come on a plate. Look at all of that kitten pudge! They never missed a meal, Mom-Cat would have been proud of them. |
